YouTube adds AI-generated content labeling tool
YouTube has announced a way for creators to self-label when their videos contain AI-generated or synthetic material.
From The Verge: The platform previously said it would require creators to disclose AI-generated material in 2024. But like other creator platforms, labels are based on the honor system.
The HCA’s take: We support methods in service of transparency regarding AI-created content, but without accountability there is no safeguard against bad actors refusing to label content. The only solution is to certify the creators themselves.
